From the multiplex auditorium through the film festival to the living-room home cinema on every continent: Atmos is the object-based 3D audio format that replaced the rigid 5.1/7.1 layout and moves individual sounds freely through the room — including the height layer above the listener. What began as a cinema format has become the standard in serious home theatre.

A Dolby Atmos Globe sign belongs in a room where the format isn't just installed but understood. Home-cinema builders with fully built-out 7.1.4 or 9.2.6 configurations.
