MultEQ XT32 is the version of Audyssey that the room-correction discussion actually centres on. Released in 2010 and reserved for the top of the Denon and Marantz ranges ever since, XT32 carries thirty-two times the filter resolution of standard MultEQ and adds Sub EQ HT — the only Audyssey tier that calibrates each subwoofer channel independently instead of treating them as a single sum. Combined with the MultEQ Editor App, it's where Audyssey stops being a setup wizard and starts being a tunable instrument.
An Audyssey XT32 sign belongs in a room that earned the upgrade. Owners of a Denon AVR-A1H, AVR-X4800H or above, Marantz Cinema 40 or higher, or any of the AV8805-class processors. Listeners who edited the curve in the App after the auto-calibration, because XT32 is the tier where that matters. People who care which microphone position made it into the final filter.
The natural spot: in the equipment rack beside the processor, beside the dual-sub stack the Sub EQ HT was set up for, or on the wall behind the calibrated listening position.
