Rotel was founded in Tokyo in 1961 as a family company by the Tachikawa family — and has remained independent into the third generation. Across six decades, Rotel has defended an amplification philosophy that takes the word "balanced" literally: no hype, no audiophile boutique posturing, just amplification that does its job — over the long run. The long-standing partnership with Bowers & Wilkins is more than marketing: many hi-fi listeners know their first serious system as "B&W on Rotel".
A Rotel sign belongs in a room where the amplification chain is the quiet constant. Owners of a Diamond Series combination, an RC/RB stereo chain, or an RA integrated in a second listening room. Listeners who don't swap their amplifier every two years — they calibrate it and keep it.
