The Original — Made in Germany
The original — accept no imitations. CineSigns invented this category — widely copied across the web, but every original is conceived and made in Germany.

Technics was founded in Japan in 1965 as a premium line of Matsushita (today Panasonic) — and with the SL-1200 wrote a chapter of audio history that has no real counterpart. The direct-drive turntable from 1972 has become the standard tool of the DJ world across more than fifty years and six generations — and at the same time one of the most durable hi-fi turntables ever made. Alongside the turntable legacy, Technics today again builds premium amplification, headphones and streaming sources.

A Technics sign belongs in a room where "turntable" is meant literally. Owners of an SL-1200 or SL-1210 deck (any generation), an SL-1500C, or a current Reference Class model. Listeners who know what direct drive does compared to belt drive — and have decided for themselves which suits their system.

The natural spot: in the listening room at the hi-fi rack, next to the turntable, or above the system. If you run Technics, you most likely pair it with other Japanese audio brands — take a look at our Nakamichi, Marantz and Pioneer signs as well.
