Focal Sign

Since 1979, Focal has been building loudspeakers in Saint-Étienne, France, that sound different from almost everything else on the market. Founded by Jacques Mahul, the company committed early to building everything in-house — from cone to surround — and to one technological signature it has held onto ever since: beryllium tweeter domes. Listen to Focal and the first thing you hear is the treble. Then everything else.

A Focal sign belongs in a room where resolution matters. Owners of the Utopia, Sopra, Kanta or Aria. Listeners who don't need beryllium explained against aluminium. People who deliberately don't call their speakers "neutral" — they call them "transparent".
