Auro 3D Sign

Auro 3D is the third major immersive audio format alongside Dolby Atmos and DTS:X — developed by the Belgian studio specialist Auro Technologies under Wilfried Van Baelen. Unlike Atmos and DTS:X, Auro 3D follows a layered logic: a base layer (5.1 or 7.1), an upper height layer above it, and an optional "Voice of God" layer above the listener. The result is a soundstage with a distinct character in depth and spatial cue — and one cultivated in many Auro 3D-certified mastering rooms worldwide.

An Auro 3D sign belongs in a room where immersive audio doesn't only mean "Atmos". Owners of an Auro 3D-compatible processor or AVR configuration. Home-cinema builders who deliberately look for Auro 3D mixes in their library — and for whom the format has a distinct musical identity, especially with classical and acoustic recordings.
