Panamorph is the American brand that does one thing in the home-cinema market: anamorphic conversion lenses for projectors that extend a 16:9 image to the 2.35:1 cinema format — without losing resolution or brightness to the unused black bars above and below. The Paladin, CineVista and Alpha lines sit in the world's custom-install home cinemas where the screen isn't 16:9 but 2.35:1 — and where the projector hardware (Sony XW, JVC D-ILA, Epson QB/LS) takes the converter directly.
A Panamorph sign belongs in a room where the screen has the cinemascope format — and the projector does justice to it. Owners of a Paladin, CineVista or Alpha lens configuration. Home-cinema builders with a 2.35:1 screen who know why "zoom" isn't visually or energetically equivalent to a dedicated anamorphic solution.
