3D Viewing Experience Sign

The 3D Viewing Experience sign points to the phase of home-cinema history that produced its own disc generation and its own hardware generation for stereoscopic 3D playback — and during which serious home-cinema builders deliberately upgraded their setups with 3D-capable projectors, active or passive glasses, and frame-packing HDMI specifications. Even though 3D is no longer at the forefront in the consumer market, the format lives on in 3D-certified setups whose UHD collections include 3D Blu-rays.

A 3D Viewing Experience sign belongs in a room where 3D Blu-rays are still maintained and played. Owners of a 3D-capable projector (JVC, Sony, Optoma or an older Epson model) with active or passive glasses. Home-cinema builders who have curated their 3D disc collection over years — and who know why some titles only show their intended aesthetic in 3D.
